SEELE 100
We invite you to participate in First Protestant becoming a spiritual home for a new generation, as we renew this beautiful and important historic building on the church campus. We pray and expect that a renewed Seele Parish House will be a blessing to both congregants and community for another 100 years!
WHO WE ARE
Since 1845, First Protestant Church has been the spiritual home at the heart of the city of New Braunfels. Located near the historic city center, we are at a strategic intersection of a community that is in a time of rapid population growth.
First Protestant is within walking distance of the Courthouse, the Convention Center, and dozens of shops and eateries. We believe God has placed us here at this moment to compassionately welcome all in Jesus’ name, and to be a community of hope that reflects Christ’s kingdom.
HISTORY OF THE SEELE PARISH HOUSE
First Protestant Church broke ground to build the Seele Parish House in 1929, and the building has been a hub of the church as well as the whole community since its completion in 1930.
A STRONG FOUNDATION
Recent building inspections confirm the integrity and strength of the core structures of the Seele building. A full abatement of the interior and renewal of all spaces, including a full utilities overhaul, and redesign of key access points will not only restore this building to its pristine condition but will ensure it can serve the community for another 100 years!
THE FUTURE IS HERE
This restoration project invests in the next generation. We anticipate that the recent growth in young families at FPC will continue, which poises our teenage ministry to expand their usage of the basement level of the Seele building (known as the Bormann Room). The resounding success of the new FPC theater company (the Coll Street Players, founded in 2023) will require regular use of the theater level.
Growth in our adult education classes, the presence of a large homeschooling community during the week, and a vision to provide in depth bible and theology training for this region necessitate the renewal of Seele’s balcony level.
