Welcome To First Protestant Church of New Braunfels.
Our Beliefs and Teachings
Since our founding, First Protestant Church has cherished the teachings of God’s Word as proclaimed by the Protestant reformers. We celebrate our unity in the essential doctrines of Scripture and allow a diverse range of perspectives among our membership on secondary matters. The Evangelical Catechism of 1929 provides a full explanation of our church’s key teachings.
Our Values
Our vision as a church is to be “a spiritual home at the heart of New Braunfels”. We pursue this through six values: We compassionately welcome with the same love Christ showed us. We worship God together in Spirit and Truth each Lord’s Day. We joyfully witness God’s work in our midst and in the world. We nurture the hurting in our community. We train Christians to obey all Christ taught. And we send with blessings all members to do God’s work in this world.
Our Structure
FPC is a reformed congregational church, meaning that church members vote on key decisions for our church and appoint two branches of leadership – 1) the Minister & his staff lead the vision and ministry of the church; while 2) the Church Council focuses on governance matters that move ministry forward. In addition, members assist in facilitating certain areas of church life through our three Boards (Education, Finance, Missions).
Our Campus & History
Our beautiful church campus is regularly utilized for weddings and other special events. Historical building tours are available on designated days throughout the year. Contact the church office for details (office@firstprotestant.com).
Our Network
Over 25 years ago, First Protestant Church collaborated with three other congregations to found the Evangelical Association (EARCCC, or EA), a voluntary network of churches and ministers. Today, the EA is a network of over 120 churches around the nation. The “Issues & Core Beliefs” of the Evangelical Association are supported by First Protestant Church insofar as they cohere with the FPC doctrinal statement.
