Thank you for responding and helping us verify our membership.”
Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ,
We here at First Protestant Church of New Braunfels hope this letter finds you well!
Our church is currently updating our office software, and as such, we have been taking this opportunity to review and update our membership rolls.
As it is written, the FPC constitution states that “the duties of members are to live a Christian life, to seek the spiritual well-being of the congregation and all people, to regularly attend worship services of the Church and the celebration of the Lord’s Supper, to contribute financially to its support, and to share in its organized work.” All of these are done and given freely by our members in thanks to God for the many ways He has blessed their lives.
During this review of our membership list, we have come across the names of people who may have moved away, moved their membership to another church, or may not have attended FPC for quite some time for whatever reason. It is with this in mind that we are updating our membership rolls.
We are sending out this letter to confirm your membership, and to see if you are still an active part of First Protestant Church of New Braunfels.
If you feel that you are an “active member”, according to the constitutional agreement above, please return the reply form and you will be included in the active list of our church membership. All “active members” will have the right to voice and vote in transactions of the church, and to serve the congregation on Council, boards, committees, and organizations.
If you have not been attending our Church for an extended period of time, for whatever reason, and have also not been in a position to give of your time, talents, and tithes and offerings, we would like to offer the option of being an “associate member”. By marking this section on the reply form, your name will STILL be listed on the church membership roll, and you will still be able to be part of all programs and services. The ONLY difference is that an “associate member” will not be able to take part in any church vote or decision-making process or serve on boards or committees.
If you have moved, are regularly attending another church, or are no longer a part of the First Protestant Church family for whatever reason, please check the “non-member” box, and you will be removed from the membership rolls.
Your response is very important to us. As such, we are requesting that you reply to this letter within two weeks. If we do not receive your timely response, we will presume that you desire to be removed from our rolls as either “active” or “associate”. You will always be welcome to rejoin First Protestant Church at any time if you so choose…when you are comfortable in making the commitment and meet the criteria stated in the church constitution.
We hope that you will take time to consider your part in our church, what you are able to contribute to it, and what your part is in growing God’s kingdom through First Protestant Church of New Braunfels. Membership should not be taken lightly. It is a commitment to the mission, purpose, and community of FPC both now and moving forward.
We deeply appreciate your reply, and we look forward to hearing from you!
Have a blessed day!
Your First Protestant Church Council
